Canada Revenue Agency Online Services
The Canada Revenue Agency’s website at www.cra.gc.ca provides individuals and businesses with a unique ability to review and monitor their accounts, among other activities, online through a service called My Account for individuals, or My Business Account for businesses. These services are great because they are secure, convenient, easy-to-use and they save a lot of time.
With My Account , you can see information about your:
- Tax refund or balance owing;
- RRSP, Home Buyer’s Plan or Lifelong Learning Plan;
- Tax-Free Savings Account;
- Tax returns and carryover amounts;
- Account balances and payments on filing;
- Installments;
- Various other items.

With My Account, you can also manage your income tax online by changing your address, applying for child benefits, authorizing a representative or setting up a payment plan, to name a few.
With My Business Account you can see information about your:
- GST/HST, Corporation and other levies;
- Make online requests for things such as transfer of credits, refund and payments search;
- Obtain copies of Notices and Statements expeditiously;
- File GST/HST returns;
- Various other items.

For both accounts, you will need to register online. The CRA will then send you a secure identification number (usually takes 5 business days), and then you are ready to manage your accounts online.
